Psalm 27:1-4
- The Lord is My Light and My Salvation
1
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came
against me
To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army may
encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident.
4 One thing I have
desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple
1
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help? 2 My help
comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not
allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who
keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is
your keeper;
The LORD is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall
not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall
preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul. 8 The LORD shall
preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.
1
O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water. 2 So I have
looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
3 Because Your
lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You. 4 Thus I will
bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5 My soul shall
be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
1
Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer. 2 From the end
of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For You have
been a shelter for me,
A strong tower from the enemy. 4 I will abide
in Your tabernacle forever;
I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.
3 He is despised
and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely
He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He
was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we
like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was
oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
1For
Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,
Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
And her salvation as a lampthatburns.
2The
Gentiles shall see your righteousness,
And all kings your glory.
You shall be called by a new name,
Which the mouth of the LORD will name.
3You
shall also be a crown of glory
In the hand of the LORD,and
a royal diadem
In the hand of your God.
4You
shall no longer be termed Forsaken,
Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate;
But you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land
Beulah;
For the LORD delights in you,
And your land shall be married.
5Forasa
young man marries a virgin, Soshall
your sons marry you;
Andasthe
bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.
6I
have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
They shall never hold their peace day or night.
You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,
7And
give Him no rest till He establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8The
LORD has sworn by His right hand
And by the arm of His strength:
"Surely I will no longer give your grain Asfood
for your enemies;
And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new
wine,
For which you have labored.
9But
those who have gathered it shall eat it,
And praise the LORD;
Those who have brought it together
shall drink it in My holy courts.”
10Go
through,Go
through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people;
Build up,Build
up the highway!
Take out the stones,
Lift up a banner for the peoples!
11Indeed
the LORD has proclaimed
To the end of the world:
"Say to the daughter of Zion,
‘Surely your salvation is coming;
Behold, His rewardiswith
Him,
And His work before Him.’”
12And
they shall call them The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the LORD;
And you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.
Isaiah 43:1b-3a -
Fear Not, for I
have Redeemed You
1b“Fear
not, for I have redeemed you;
I have calledyouby
your name;
YouareMine.
2When
you pass through the waters, Iwill
bewith you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
3aFor
Iamthe
LORD your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
1 He who dwells
in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of
the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He
shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover
you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not
be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6Nor of
the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at
noonday.
7 A thousand may
fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your
eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you
have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall
befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall
give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their
hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall
tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample
underfoot.
14 “Because he
has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call
upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long
life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”
1 How long, O
LORD? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me? 2 How long shall
I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider
and hear me, O LORD my God;
Enlighten my eyes,
Lest I sleep the sleep of death; 4 Lest my enemy
say,
“I have prevailed against him”; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am
moved.
5 But I have
trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. 6 I will sing to
the LORD,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me.
11 For if we died
with Him,
We shall also live with Him. 12 If we
endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us. 13 If we
are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.
