Raj Kumar
Raj Kumar (RJ), a familiar face in
the local music scene, has been involved in the worship ministry for over
15 years now. He not only has a deep passion for worship, but also a great
desire to see the Malaysian Christian Music Scene taken to a greater
height for the Glory of the Lord. Apart from having a full-time career in
Creative Technologies, he also serves as a songwriter, musician, worship
leader, and a producer.

In 2002, RJ produced
a worship album entitled “In You
Lord”. This is the first contemporary
worship album recorded and launched in Malacca. All tracks were recorded
live. Eight of the 9 tracks in the album were written by RJ. The songs in
the album are catchy and suitable for use in worship services. By the
grace of God, the album has made its way to countries like Australia,
Indonesia, Mauritius and South Africa, touching lives all over the world.
One of the favorites in this album is
a beautiful worship song entitled “Jesus, I Love you”. It is therefore not
surprising that this
song is being sung today in many churches in Malaysia.
"In You Lord" album captures the heart of
worship in a City Church. The songs in the album connects anyone to God in
simple and yet profound way, as it speaks of His faithfulness, love &
mercy. All songs from this album are available for free on the "Free
Downloads" page. MCSN wishes to thank RJ for this blessing.
RJ has also been involved in Planetshakers Malaysia and Youth Alive
Malaysia (YAM) where he plays bass for the YAM Band.
RJ is currently managing and promoting a vibrant progressive Christian
Rock Band called “PG165”. Their
debut album is due to be released sometime this year.

Lucy L
Lucy
L is a gifted songwriter from Georgetown Baptist Church, Penang,
and the Producer of the dynamic youth album,
SAND -
Sold Out (SAND means Saved for a New Destiny).
Sold Out was released in
June 2002. Lucy L wrote all the songs in SAND - Sold Out, and
gathered young people from seven churches in Penang to participate in her
album.

On
Sept 12, 2004, she released her second SAND album entitled
DREAMS under her own recording label Masterpiece Music. Lucy wrote most
of the songs in SAND - Dreams but
also included 2 songs from other
songwriters from Penang.

Lucy L graduated
from Trinity College of Music London (1989), majoring in classical piano and
cello and has been teaching music for more than 12 years. She has also been
writing Gospel songs for the last 10 years.
In 1999-2000, she
went to Hillsong, Australia and Sydney Conservatory to further her music
education. During these years, she participated in the live recording of two
Hillsong albums. This was a major turn around to her style of music
resulting in the release of her contemporary album SAND. Lucy has a great
passion for the youth and desires to train a whole young generation to excel
in creative ministry, especially in the realm of songwriting and worship.
Last year, she was asked by a publisher
to transcribe her songs into a piano book. Together with Christopher Norton
(of Kingsway Music, UK) and Raymond Tan, "Because of Love"
was produced and released in July 2006.

This piano book features 10 original
pieces composed in contemporary genres of pop, rock and ballad. It comes
with an accompaniment CD and teaching notes. Two other books are on the way
to the publishers and will be out in August this year.
However, the biggest development for
Lucy this year is to have her song "Come Holy Spirit" recorded
by
Kingsway
Music UK, under the "Here I Am to Worship" series. This is a
major breakthrough for Malaysian Christian Music, and MCSN would like to
take this opportunity to congratulate Lucy and pray the Lord will continue
to use her and her music for His glory. Visit
Kingsway Music to view album features and listen to a clip of the song.
Amidst all this, God
has also been opening doors for Lucy to conduct workshops and seminars
across the country, teaching both piano teachers and music students. She has
also had the opportunity to perform at the ISME (International Society of
Music Education) in KL.
To listen to songs, visit SAND's
soundclick at
www.soundclick.com/sandmasterpiecemusic.
To read more about SAND, visit
www.masterpiecemusic.com.my.
"Because of Love"
(book and CD compilation) is sold in music schools across Malaysia. The CD
version is available at Popular Bookstore outlets. The SAND albums are sold
at Glad Sounds and StarMaker.
Latest News (May 07):
One of the songs from "Because of
Love" entitled "Only You", has been chosen as an examination
piece for the Australian/New Zealand Music Examinations Board for
2007-2008. This is quite an amazing feat and we want to congratulate
Lucy as she continues to breakthrough into the international music
scene.

Patrick Leong
Patrick has
been involved in the music industry since 1997, performing as a backing
vocalist for major artistes such as Taiwan Artist Wang Lee Hom, Sheila Majid,
Siti Nurhaliza, Innuendo and many other local artists. A significant
breakthrough in his singing career occurred in 2002 when Patrick opened
Pavarotti's Concert for the Asian Global Leadership Forum which was held on
the 7th of September that year in Pangkor Laut. Soon after Patrick was led
to form a Ministry that reaches out through music and testimonies. June 2003
saw the formation of Oops! Asia as well as the release of his debut album
"For Your Love" which contains a tapestry of his life experiences & faith.
The songs in "For Your Love" are
borne out of both the good & bad experiences in Patrick's life & the lives
of the people around him. Events and happenings in the world also play a big
part in the music that Patrick writes. The song "Open Arms" for example is a
message of comfort to those who lost loved ones in the Bali terrorist
attacks that occurred on 12th October 2002. The song is based on Psalm 73:23
which speak these words of comfort: "Yet I am always with You; You hold
me by my right hand"
Another song titled "Through The Rain" released in January 26, 2005 as a
compilation single was produced to raise funds for the devastating Tsunami
that shook the world on Boxing Day 26 December 2004.
Patrick's 2nd album, "Unto You", was
released this year. It is a worship album that features depth and intimacy
with the Lord through its songs, lyrics and music. It is an album of soul
searching and deep conviction for the love of the Father through worship.
The nature of the album is simple "soothing and uplifting in spirit".
In essence Patrick's
music is inspired by the intimacy of worship unto the Lord. Whilst
continuing to serve in his beloved church DUMC (Damansara Utama Methodist
Church) in PJ, he is convicted to inspire lives and hearts through his
songs. At the end of the day all, Patrick wants to give his best in the here
& now; impacting lives through the songs that he writes. To be who God
created him to be and to use his God-given gifts & talents to the fullest
and at the end of it all to hear these words from his Maker: "Welcome
home my good and faithful servant"
Besides his music
Patrick is an avid tennis player and a professional tennis coach with the
certification of "Professional" attached with the United States Professional
Tennis Registry.
He was the Physical National Trainer for the Malaysian Davis Cup Team in
2000 and 2001.
He still coaches and plays competitively in his spare time till this day.
To listen to 4 songs from Patrick's
albums, please visit

Read about his interview with NST
journalist Lam Lin Shi
here.
In the meantime, we can look forward to
another album by Patrick entitled "ELOHIM" which is due to be released next
year. A powerful album in the making, it comes with a mixture of upbeat and
worship songs, and a song for Holy Communion entitled "In Remembrance of
Christ".
