Songwriter: ESTHER MUI
Esther Mui is an
accomplished pianist who has written more than 70 songs over a period of 24
years. She is also the founder of Malaysian Christian Songwriter’s Network (www.m-csn.com).
Untuk Mu is a collection of her home-recorded demo tracks of some
of her best songs. Some of the songs were written for specific church
events, one being a presentation of the Christmas Story in Bahasa Malaysia.
Two of the songs from that presentation have been included in this
collection: "UntukMu" and "Buka Hatimu". Both are light
jazz in feel with "UntukMu" having a traditional ethnic touch. The
lyrics of both these songs were written by Heather Liew, and are
evangelistic in nature. The other Malay songs in this collection are "Kasih",
"Dengan Sepenuh Hatiku", and "Di Saat Ini". "Kasih"
is also traditional-jazzy in feel, while "Dengan Sepenuh Hatiku"
is a simple praise song with an acoustic feel.

Evelyn Tai started song writing in 2001, while serving as worship coordinator in SMK Taman Sea Christian Fellowship. She wrote her first song, "It’s Only You" as the theme song for the Christian Fellowship and also because she couldn’t find any other song to fit that theme. Since then, she has written more than 60 songs (both worship songs and secular love ballads). Some of her lyrics are from her own personal journey and others are conceptual songs. Looking at her songs, you can see she has an amazing talent to write conceptual lyrics and present her thoughts in an interesting way. The lyrics for most of these songs can be viewed here. Her first single release, Chosen, was written as an offering to God after she received a life prophecy while leading the tambourine dancers in worship one Sunday service. Her second single, “Falling Star” is about people who fail to realize who they are and the value of their lives. Instead of being stars shining in the sky, they have become a falling star. Besides songwriting, Evelyn is also trained in ballet, tap and dance. Evelyn is currently in her final year of medical school at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Songwriter: EZRA BAPTIST
Ezra started singing and playing the guitar at about 14 years of age. At a young age, he used to have visions of himself singing and worshipping God in the presence of a great multitudes of people, and being able to share his music online has made those visions partially come true. His greatest desire is to be lost in the presence of the Lord in worship. His songs are largely focused on the Lord's sacrifice on the cross, and the hope of salvation we have in Him.
Ezra loves music of various types. All the songs you hear are recorded at home.
Ezra's songs have been doing very well on the Soundclick charts. So far, 4 of his songs have climbed up to the top of charts: "Slow Things Down" (No.1 on Classic Rock), "What have I Done?" (No.1 on Contemporary Christian), "The Spirit of the Lord" (No.1 on Contemporary Christian) and "Don't You Think it's Time We Stopped?" (No.1 on Christian Rock).

Songwriter:
KAREN
HUGHES
Ps Karen Hughes is a worship pastor who has a passion to see young people rise up to their calling and pursuing everything that God has for them. One of the tools that God has given her is music. As young as 18, she traveled to Australia to study at a bible school that specializes in music and worship. At that time, it was then only known as Hillsong College, Sydney. She has been trained to pastor musicians as well as helping smaller churches form their own bands. Many of her songs that have been featured in her dad's albums birthed out of her times in bible school as she started to find her own niche in ministry. After graduating, she married Paul Hughes whom she met at Hillsong and came back to live in Penang. God has put a burden in their hearts to start a church in Penang but before that they went back to Australia again and this time to the Gold Coast to study in a school that only specializes in the Holy Spirit and understanding the realm of the Spirit. The turning point in her life was when she came back to Penang for a holiday with Paul and only to find that they have been here ever since. In July 2005, they pioneered a youth church in Penang called The Realm that caters to young people. Karen believes that music is a powerful tool in winning the hearts of many young people as well as bringing them into the Most Holy Place where they have an encounter with their God that will change their lives forever. Ps Karen and her husband have a vision to see the fastest growing youth church in Malaysia....their journey continues...
